My Roots, Inc. was created as a tribute to my grandparents; Mama Daisy and Daddy Mack. I have always admired my grandfather because of how smart he was. Daddy Mack served in the navy, which is represented by the anchor on the logo. He was a very accomplished man. He was a scientist, biologist, chemist, and college professor among a host of other things. 

The bond that I shared with my grandmother could not be summed up in a few short words. I'll never understand how she convinced our school system to allow the bus to drive out of the district just to drop me off at her house lol. Mama Daisy used to pick strawberries and bring them to all her grand-kids and make us strawberry dumplings. You could smell the love in the kitchen as she cooked from outside.

The orange ribbon symbolizes my late father Vance Walker, who passed away from Multiple Sclerosis. The memories that I have of my grandparents and father will forever remain and their legacy will be passed down from generation to generation because of "My Roots".
